Malikha transitioned from UIC's Office of International Affairs where she was the Exchange Programs Coordinator for two years to join the Study Abroad Office in the summer of 2017. She earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Language and Literature at UIC. She was a Congressional Black Caucus and Illinois State Representative scholarship recipient. As part of her degree program, she studied abroad in both Argentina and Venezuela. Malikha is the primary contact for all UIC student exchange programs. In collaboration with UIC's Office of International Services and international exchange partners, she coordinates the initial nomination process for all incoming international exchange student applicants and monitors exchange balances to be in compliance with established international education best practice and university protocols. Prior to her international education work, Malikha illustrated two children's books focused on teaching children about vocabulary and travel. She has taught English as a second language in both Buenos Aires and Chicago and was a Quality Assurance Analyst for an Illinois biopharmaceutical company. While an undergraduate at UIC, she worked as a Resident Assistant and Research Assistant where she gained administrative skills in student advising and program coordination for 300+ student residents.
