This program is ideal for students who want to compare and contrast contemporary urban issues in two great cities: Chicago and London. Students receive 6 UIC credit hours upon successful completion of the program. During spring semester students attend two mandatory pre-departure orientations. Sessions will be held on Fridays from 12:00 - 4:00 on April 4 and April 18, 2014.
Students work on projects in small research groups focusing on one of the following areas:
- Crime and Safety
- Economic Development
- Health and Social Services
- Housing and Urban Development
- Government and Community Participation
- Study your area of interest in London through field visits and lectures by British experts
- Led by UIC Professor Nik Theodore
- Work on projects in research groups composed of graduate and undergraduate students
- A field trip outside of London is included
Housing / Meals
Students will be housed in double rooms in residence halls located in central London within walking distance of many central London attractions with excellent public transportation close by.
Graduate and upper-level undergraduate students who have completed at least 12 credit hours on campus are eligible to apply. Students must also have an overall minimum UIC GPA of 2.5/ 4.0.
Program fee $4,520 includes tuition, housing in central London, bus tour of London, welcome reception and field trips. Additional expenses include: airfare, meals and personal expenses.
