The Cé
ntro Internacional de Español (CIDE) offers courses in Spanish Language and Culture. Students can also take other courses with Spanish students in the different Schools of the University of Deusto.

Take summer courses with a UIC Faculty: Inma Taboada will teach "Culture and Politics in Contemporary Spain/ Cultura y Política en la España contemporánea"; Yanire Marquez will teach one of the Spanish language courses.

Academics

CIDE offers a selection of courses specifically designed for international students. During the semester, classes are taught in the morning and/or afternoon, Monday through Thursday.

 

  • Spanish Language: Spanish language courses (4 US Credits - 10 US Credits) for all levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and High Advanced ).
  • Culture, Economy and Politics in Contemporary Spanish Society: 3 US Credits
  • Basque Culture and Language: 3 US Credits
  • Business Spanish: 3 US Credits
  • Europe in the World: 3 US Credits
  • Introduction to Hispanic Linguistics: 3 US Credits
  • Introduction to the Analysis of Hispanic Literature: 3 US Credits
  • Survey of Spanish Literature: 3 US Credits
  • Practicum: Spanish Language in Context (Drama, Cuisine...): 4 US Credits
  • Service Learning: 4 US Credits
  • Education Internship: 4 US Credits
  • Business Internship: 4 US Credits
  • CIDE students can access regular University of Deusto courses with Spanish students (taught in English or Spanish). Availability contingent upon each semester's specific offer. Courses (3-4 US Credits) offered in different areas, such as:

Guided Excursions

All the visits include travel expenses, admission tickets, and lunch

 

  • Three-day tour: Madrid, capital of Spain with multiple landmarks such as Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and its well-known museums, e.g., El Prado Museum. Toledo, historical city where the visitor can enjoy architectural jewels such as the magnificent cathedral.
  • City of Bilbao Day Tour: Main city landmarks + Guggenheim Museum
  • Coastal villages Day Tour: Costal towns and beaches
  • Historical sites Day Tour: Gernika , Mundaka and the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve
  • South of France Day Tour: Saint-Jean de Luz and Biarritz
